Guilherme Ribeiro, who is visiting IU as a Fulbright Scholar, plays the accordion with the Brazilian ensemble Feb. 27 in the Musical Arts Center. Ribeiro is a professor at two universities in São Paulo, Brazil, where he teaches piano and accordion. “The accordion is a romantic instrument,” Ribeiro said. “You have to hug it.” Ribeiro said he enjoys the friendships he’s made and all the great musicians he’s met in the United States, but he said he is still adjusting to the cold weather.
