Carl E. Bauer, whose research focuses on the origin and evolution of photosynthesis and gene expression, accepts the second award of the afternoon. Bauer has recieved numerous awards nationally for his work including the NIH Research Career Development Award and an American Society for Photobiology Young Investigator Award. Matt Begala
