Thollem Sworld; Rachael's CAfe

Wednesday, 7:30

It would seem, by his multitude of press quotes, that the only way to describe the music of keyboardist Thollem Sworld (sadly, no, not his real name) is with a list of abstractions. "A mighty tower;" "rainforest wet," and my favourite : "a supercollider centrifuge of innumerable disasters" (that one courtesy of Tom Djill of Signal to Noise). But what all these critics really mean to say is that the music defies conventional grouping: it may not even be music, but more like a current that every now and then flickers with a glimmer of what may be blues, or a ray of what may be classical. Better just to draw your own metaphors, after seeing him perform at Rachael's Cafe tomorrow night.
