Freshman guard Larryn Brooks was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week and senior forward Simone Deloach was named to the Big Ten Player of the Week Honor Roll, the Big Ten announced on Monday.

For Brooks, IU's leading scorer at 18.8 points per game, this is the second time she has earned the Big Ten Freshman of the Week honor and the first time since she earned it on Nov. 12. Brooks scored 20 points and dished out nine assists in IU's 86-84 win against former No. 22 Iowa in the Big Ten conference opening game last Thursday. Brooks made seven free throws in the final minute of the game to seal the victory.

Deloach was named to the Big Ten Player of the Week Honor Roll after her performance off the bench in the win against Iowa. Deloach recorded her second consecutive double-double with 10 points and 14 rebounds in the win. For added measure, Deloach also blocked three Hawkeyes shots to go along with her scoring and rebounding.

The awards came on a day where IU (14-0) was ranked 22nd in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll. It is only the second time in program history that IU has been ranked and the first time since being ranked 23rd on Jan. 19, 1993.
