Seventeen IU women's soccer players were named Big Ten Academic All-Big Ten award winners on Wednesday, Dec. 11.

To qualify for the award, players must be letter winners who are in at least their second academic year at their institution and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher. The award is based on academic standing, not athletic eligibility.

Sophomores to earn the honor were Jessie Bujouves, Caitlin O'Connor, Rachel Romero and Jen Stanley.

Juniors to earn the award were Tori Keller, Abby Smith, and Jordan Woolums.

Seniors being recognize were Rebecca Candler, Rebecca Dreher, Shannon Flower, Kristin Leist, Kate McCuskker, Monica Melink, Lisa Nouanesengsy, Lara Ross, Bekah White and Rebecca Zambon.

After being honored this year, seniors Melink, Zambon, White, Candler, Nouanesengsy, Ross and Flower all earned the award for the third consecutive season giving them a perfect three-for-three in earning the recognition.
