Luis Soffner earned his third Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honor on Monday afternoon. The honor was his second in a row following last week's mention after Soffner shutout Ohio State in the Hoosiers opening conference win.

Soffner's third mention tops the conference in number of times a single player has been mentioned as a Player of the Week. Eriq Zavaleta trails Soffner's three weeks with two for himself.

This week, the mention was given to Soffner following an 11-save week against ranked Notre Dame at home on Wednesday followed by an overtime win against Penn State away.

The clean sheet in conference play for the Hoosiers places Indiana at the top of the conference standings for goals allowed. The Hoosiers, with Soffner starting each game, is the only team to keep the clean sheet as conference play ends its second week.

Soffner and the Hoosiers will travel to take on Kentucky away on Wednesday before a home match against Big Ten opponent Wisconsin on Saturday night.
