The Big Ten named junior midfielder Jacob Bushue Offensive Player of the Week and senior defender Caleb Konstanski co-Defensive Player of the Week, the conference officed announced Monday.
Konstanski gave the Hoosiers a 1-0 lead in the 56th minute Friday against then-No. 22 Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. Though he scored his first goal of the season August 26 against the University of Cincinnati, Friday's goal was his first game-winner.
It's his second goal of the season, and the third career goal for the Bloomington South High School graduate.
Bushue notched his first goal of the season -- and the third of his career -- in the 71st minute, doubling IU's lead.
It's the first time in Konstanski's career that he earned the accolade.
He shared it with Wisconsin's freshman goalkeeper Chase Rau.
The Hoosiers scored both goals from corner kicks, a category in which they edged the SIU-E Cougars 8-2.
Indiana leads the Big Ten in corners attempted with 50.
The Hoosier defense has shut out four of seven opponents thus far. Saint Louis is the only team to score on Indiana in a game the Hoosiers won.
