Indiana women's basketball has released its 2012-13 schedule, and the Curt Miller era officially begins Nov. 9 at Valparaiso.

The schedule includes 17 home games, starting with the home opener against Indiana State Nov. 16. Miller and his team will experience their first live action at Assembly Hall on Oct. 30, when they take on Kentucky State in an exhibition.

"I am excited for the upcoming 2012-13 season and the schedule that we inherited," head coach Curt Miller said in a press release. "The highlight of the schedule is the opportunity to play 17 home games in Assembly Hall. We believe this gives us a great chance to connect with the loyal fan base and build the excitement of our program heading into the future."

After playing Kentucky State and Valparaiso, IU will head to Murray State on Nov. 12 before returning for the home opener against the Sycamores Nov. 16. Three days later, IU will play Texas A&M Corpus Christi on the road.

The team then returns to Bloomington for a nearly three week period that includes five home games. IU will face in-state foes IUPUI (Nov. 23) and IPFW (Nov. 26) before taking on Clemson Nov. 28 as part of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.

IU then wraps up the home stand against Cleveland State (Dec. 2) and Belmont (Dec. 4) before traveling to nearby Butler on Dec. 9 for its only road game of December. The team finishes the month and its non-conference schedule with three home games, against SIU-Edwardsville (Dec. 16), Xavier (Dec. 21) and UIC (Dec. 31).

The Hoosiers will open their conference schedule at Michigan on Jan. 3. Its other Big Ten road games include at Ohio State (Jan. 17), at Northwestern (Jan. 28), at Purdue (Jan. 31), at Wisconsin (Feb. 10), at Michigan State (Feb. 13), at Illinois (Feb. 23) and at Iowa (Feb. 28).

Indiana welcomes its first Big Ten opponent to Bloomington on Jan. 6 when they take on the Northwestern Wildcats. The team's other conference home games include Nebraska (Jan. 10), Michigan State (Jan. 20), Michigan (Jan. 24), Ohio State (Feb. 3), Penn State (Feb. 7), Purdue (Feb. 20) and Minnesota on March 3, the final game of the regular season.

The 2013 Big Ten Women's Basketball Tournament will take place March 7-10 at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates, Ill. The tournament site will rotate between Hoffman Estates and Indianapolis as part of a four-year agreement between the Big Ten and the tournament venues.

Remaining game times and televised contests will be announced at a later date.
