Myriam Sopel, a native of Longes, France played tennis for the Cream and Crimson from 2007-2011. Now she will dispense her tennis wisdom as an assistant coach.

Sopel has recently taken the job of assistant coach at Wagner College which is located in Staten Island, N.Y. where she will be pursuing her MBA.

Sopel was a letter winner in each of her four years in Bloomington.

The former tennis star was also a standout in the classroom. She graduated with a double major in journalism and Spanish while boasting a 3.886 GPA.

She was also an Academic All-American for her last three years in college, as well as a Big Ten distinguished scholar.

At one point in her career, she rose to the No. 23 ranked player in the nation in singles play. She was 35-10 in doubles action in her career and played alongside fellow France native and currently senior Leslie Hureau during her senior junior year.

Sopel led IU to two NCAA at large births during her tenure.
