Redshirt freshman relief pitcher Aaron Slegers has not made an appearance since Indiana played the University of Louisville Cardinals in Northern Kentucky on March 6.

Following the April 8 contest against the University of Illinois, I asked IU Coach Tracy Smith why.

"Injury," he said. "He's got a stress fracture in his leg and we're just waiting to get him back."

Smith said he doesn't have a timetable for the Scottsdale, Ariz. native's return.

I failed to ask when the injury occurred or which leg was injured.

Slegers threw only one inning during the 2011 season before suffering a season-ending forearm injury.
