On Wednesday, the NCAA released the official swimming psych sheets for the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships from March 15-17 in Auburn, Ala., as 11 members from the Indiana women's swimming team were selected to compete in the elite event.

Senior Allysa Vavra led the way in seeding for the Hoosiers, as the record-setting swimmer earned top ten seeds in the 200-yard Individual Medley (5th), 400-yard IM (4th) and the 200-yard breaststroke (9th). Last month, Vavra set the IU records in both the 200- and 400 IM at the Big Ten Championships, posting the 15th fastest time ever in the 400 IM in the process of doing so.

Senior Margaux Farrell, who was recently chosen for the Wayne Duke Postgraduate Award, also earned three individual selections to the NCAA Championships. Farrell earned top ten seeds in both the 500- and 200-yard freestyles (10th place each), and also finished five places ahead of the cut in the 100-yard freestyle with a 27 seed and a time of 48.90.

In her first ever NCAA Championships, freshman Justine Ress was awarded two spots in the meet, with times in the 100- and 200-yard backstroke events. Both Farrell and Ress will be flying to Dunkirk, France the day after NCAA's finish, as both expect to compete in the French Olympic Trials held from March 18-25.

Finally, the Hoosiers will also have a top five seed in the 800-yard freestyle relay, after setting the school record at the Big Ten Championships with a time of 7:00.82. Other swimmers competing in multiple events include freshman Lauren Jordan (500, 1650 free), senior Brittany Strumbel (200, 500 free), sophomore Lindsay Vrooman (500, 1650 free) and senior Nikki White (500, 1650 free).

IU will have the potential to qualify more athletes for the NCAA Championships after the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships are completed. Those take place at the Counsilman Billingsley Aquatic Center at IU, from March 8-10.
