  • The worst team in the Big Ten played at the best team in the Big Ten and the result should surprise no one. But what can it tell us about the Spartans, who IU plays on Feb. 28?

  1. A big reason the Spartans won -not named Draymond Green (23 points)- was their ability to get to and convert from the line. Penn State committed 26 fouls, which turned into 34 foul shots, 23 of which Michigan State made. This compares to 11-of-16 from the charity stripe for Penn State.
  2. Michigan State outrebounded the Nittany Lions 41-to-22, as Green lead the way with 12 boards. The Spartans had 17 offensive rebounds. IU has struggled this season on the glass and can't let Michigan State get many second-chance opportunities.

No.22 Michigan (19-5, 8-3) 62

*Nebraska (10-15, 2-10) 46

  • Well, the Wolverines did what IU couldn't; beat Nebraska in Lincoln. Michigan turned the ball over just four times and shot 11-of-24 from three. Freshman guard Trey Burke's off shooting night, 3-of-11 from the field, was compensated for by his teammates. Other than Burke, no Michigan player missed more than three field goals. On the game the Wolverines shot 52.2% from the field.
  • IU does not play Nebraska or Michigan again
