After a few days of speculation, IU Coach Kevin Wilson named former Arizona Offensive Coordinator Seth Littrell to the same post on the IU squad.

"We received a large amount of interest from a talented pool of applicants, but I kept coming back to Seth," Wilson said in a press release from IU Athletics. "Seth is one of the most innovative, young coordinators in the country. We are excited to incorporate his successful background with the spread passing game into our offense. We welcome Seth, his wife, Becca, and his son, Tripp, to the the Hoosier football family."

Not only will Littrell fill the void left from the departure of former Co-Offensive Coordinator Rod Smith (to, of all places, Arizona), but he will be the sole Offensive Coordinator on the team. Kevin Johns, who was the Co-Coordinator with Smith last season, will now be an assistant offensive coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach, along with his current duties as Wide Receivers Coach. Johns played quarterback for the University of Dayton and was a Division 1-AA All-American.

Littrell's offense in Arizona averaged 30.8 points in 2011 and set school records in completions (398) and completion percentage (.690). Last season, IU completed 211 passes out of 378, good for a completion percentage of .558.

Prior to coaching at Arizona, he coached under Mike Leach at Texas Tech from 2005-2008, coaching running backs. Prior to that, he was an assistant at Kansas.
