On why he thought last night was the right time to commit to IU
"Me and my family talked about committing before we came down here. We kind of felt that like we just wanted to watch the game, see what it is like, we were pretty sure we knew what it was going to be like and it definitely didn't dissapoint. After (the game) we talked to coach Crean and it felt like the right thing to do and I didn't have any problem to let it happen"
On what ultimately solid him on IU
"I think coach Crean knows what he's doing. He's a great coach. Obviously turning Indiana basketball back around, going in the right direction. I hope I can join that and continue what they're doing right now."
On what Crean has told him his role will be at IU
"He kind of wants me to be like a Cody Zeller. It's going to be hard to replace (Zeller). Hopefully I can step up and do just that."
On if Fischer followed Crean while he was the head coach at Marquette
"I actually went to Marquette basketball camp when I was in fifth grade and got to meet him and take a picture and everything. I guess you could say we go way back."
On how Fischer would describe his game
"I like to post up, that's my comfort spot. I'm starting to get different moves down there. I'm a solid rebounder, good defender. I can step out and hit midrange shots and three point shots too. I think the main thing is I will play my role. Whatever the team needs me to do I will do it.
On what Fischer thinks he needs to work on over the next two years
"Getting stronger and quicker. The college game will be 10 times faster than high school and I will just have to work on getting stronger and quicker and prepare for what's coming."
Fischer said he doesn't know fellow 2013 commits Devin Davis or Collin Hartman but has played open gyms at IU with 2012 signees Ron Patterson and Yogi Ferrell
"Yogi is a really good point guard and Ron is another solid player and I can't wait to play with them."
On what he thought of the Ohio State game
"It was crazy. If the students were there I can't even imagine how loud it would have been. It was the loudest I've ever heard a basketball game and there weren't any students there. I kind of want to come back as soon as possible and see what it's like."
