For the first time in the Tom Crean era, IU is ranked in the Associated Press and USA Today/ESPN Coaches' Poll top 25.
A win over No. 1 Kentucky might've/definitely had a lot to do with that. After notching four votes in last week's AP Poll and 23 votes in last week's coaches' poll, a win over the undefeated Wildcats on national television pushed IU into the rankings.
The last time IU was in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches' Poll was on March 17, 2008 when they were ranked No. 24. The last time the Hoosiers were ranked in the AP Poll was a No. 18 ranking on March 3, 2008.
The only Big Ten teams to come in ahead of IU in the AP was No. 2 Ohio State and No. 14 Wisconsin. The addition to IU means that a total of six Big Ten teams are ranked in the AP.
The 9-0 Hoosiers will look to defend their new ranking when they take on Notre Dame on Saturday in the Crossroads Class at Conseco Fieldhouse.
