Caught up with 2012 IU commit Yogi Ferrell yesterday on his thoughts about making his college choice official by signing his letter of intent Wednesday.

Also Scout.com's Evan Daniels broke down each IU commit expected to sign letter of intents.

Thursday's Indiana Daily Student will have quotes from Daniels on the IU commits and a few more Ferrell quotes. For now, click the jump for some of the quotes that didn't quite make the word count.

Evan Daniels on Ferrell, who he ranks the No. 3 point guard in the Class of 2012:

"I'm a big fan of Yogi. He's a scrappy point guard. A guy that has really developed his ability to score from mid-range, has a really nice pull-up jump shot and can really create for his teammates. He defends the ball quite well and I think he's been coached quite well at Park Tudor."

Yogi Ferrell on looking towards his senior year and having his college choice behind him:

"Pretty much the end of the recruiting process looking forward to signing those papers and show my full commitment to IU."

Yogi Ferrell on what role Tom Crean has told him to expect when he comes to Bloomington in 2012:

"What he says is when I come in, 'I'm going to have to run the team,' Basically, be a leader. We have to win."

Yogi Ferrell on power forward Hanner Perea and what he can bring to the table:

"Hanner does everything, he gets rebounds, plays hard all the time so I'm glad he's definitely going there with me."

Yogi Ferrell on small forward Jeremy Hollowell and the notion that he's a quiet player:

"Jeremy has a killer mentality. I know he's going to play hard, give it his all. I know he's a quiet guy on and off (the court) but I know mentally he just wants to get out there and give it his all."

Yogi Ferrell on shooting guard Ron Patterson, whose two teams (Park Tudor and Broad Ripple) could potentially face each other in the 2A Sectional 42 this season:

"Ron has some really long arms and another thing about him is he's a really good defender. He can pretty much defend anybody in the country. That's another thing Coach Crean said, when he (Patterson) comes in he's going to have to be able to defend the best player on the court."

Yogi Ferrell on a message to IU fans about the Class of 2012:

"We're bringing it back."
