Although we are just past midterms and Thanksgiving is around the corner, the golf season is over for the Hoosier men's and women's golf teams. Let's take a quick look at how these teams fared in their fall seasons.

Women's golf:

  • The Hoosiers had their first and only win at the IU Fall Kickoff Sept. 10 and 11, where junior Rosie Davies took medalist honors.
  • Davies would continue to lead the team at two more events, tying for fourth at the Mary Fossum Invitational and tying for 27th at the Challenge at Onion Creek.
  • The team hosted two other events this season, the Lady Northern Invitational where they placed sixth and the IU Fall Invitational where they took fifth.
  • Freshman Elizabeth Tong made standout performances throughout the season, including her first top-10 finish at a major event, the Lady Northern Invitational. Tong posted her college-career low at 71 in the first round.
  • Wrapping up the season with a tough finish, the Hoosiers look forward to the spring season, which begins in February at the IU Spring Challenge in Parrish, Fla.

Men's golf:

  • This season was full of top-five finishes for the Hoosiers, which they accomplished at four out of five of their events.
  • The team defended their title at the Firestone Invitational, which they also won in 2010. Senior co-captain Chase Wright finished runner-up with a seven-under-par 209-tournament total and sophomore David Mills tied for third with a six-under-par 210.
  • Wright made four top-10 finishes in the fall season, while Mills recorded four top-25 finishes.
  • In their last event of the season, the Hoosiers tied for fourth at the Isleworth Collegiate, where they defeated ranked teams Stanford, Alabama and Oklahoma State.
  • The spring season will also begin for the men's golf team in February, where they will compete at the Big Ten Match Play Championship in Brandenton, Fla.
