While you're digesting your Thanksgiving leftovers, I thought that I'd give you some numbers to digest. I spent hours on end calculating every IU player's plus/minus for the season.
Chances are, these numbers will come out relatively soon but I figured I'd start my own count for the season. For those unfamiliar with plus/minus (or simply those of you who don't watch hockey), it shows how a team does while a player is on the floor.
For example, if Christian Watford entered the game with IU leading 25-18 and by the time he went to the bench IU was up 34-22, his plus/minus for that period would be +5.You can see why that would take a long time to calculate for every player for all five games this season.
But enough of my whining. Without further ado, here are the IU plus/minus numbers from best to worst.
1. Cody Zeller +123
2. Verdell Jones +104
3. Christian Watford +93
4. Jordan Hulls +91
5. Victor Oladipo +77
6. Daniel Moore +54
7. Will Sheehey +48
8. Derek Elston +41
9. Tom Pritchard +21
10. Matt Roth +16
11. Taylor Wayer +3
12. Austin Etherington +1
13. Jeff Howard -5
14. Remy Abell -6
15. Raphael Smith -6
16. Kory Barnett -7
It should also be noted that Moore has the best plus/minus per minute at +1.13. Zeller was second in that category but still trailed Moore by +0.15.
Think my numbers are off? Feel free to take an entire afternoon checking my math.
