IU defensive back Lenyatta Kiles has left the football team, according to multiple sources. Kiles is the tenth scholarship player to leave the team during Coach Kevin Wilson's first season in Bloomington.

Kiles, a junior college transfer from Cerritos College, appeared in seven games for the Hoosiers last year. He started and recorded five tackles against Michigan, and also recovered a fumble against Ohio State.

He switched from cornerback to safety in the spring, but he never saw the field this season. The Hoosiers needed more production out of him given their lack of depth in the secondary, but he simply wasn't the player many had hoped he would be.

Kiles was in the same class with another JUCO defensive back transfer -- Andre Kates -- who left the University in the summer with plans to transfer.
