There's a new career hits leader at IU.
Senior first baseman Jerrud Sabourin earned his 306th career hit Sunday in a 6-0 win at Iowa, surpassing Alex Smith's former all-time mark of 305.
The San Diego native entered the 2011 season with 268 career hits, which tallied fourth on the career list. Smith's record stood since 1986.
The Hoosiers took two of three games from the Hawkeyes over the weekend to improve to 23-12 and 6-3 in Big Ten play.
