After an early crash, the Cutters looked out of contention, but the team hasn't won four-straight titles for no reason.

The Cutters made up a lap and fought for the lead, letting Phi Delta Theta lead the final five laps until they went in for an exchange on Lap 199. That's when Cutters' Eric Young made his move to take off and win with the checkered flag.

Through controversy and hate-filled chants, the Cutters prevailed. The independent team won their fifth straight Little 500 victory, a feat no other team in the race has ever accomplished.

Including Saturday's victory, the Cutters have won 12 races in the team's 27-year existence.

Final results

1. Cutters

2. Phi Delta Theta

3. Sigma Chi
