With the help of three All-American swims, the Hoosier women are in 20th place after the first day of competition in Austin, Texas at the NCAA Championships.

Junior Brittney Strumbel placed 11th in the 500-yard freestyle, earning her All-American honors. Junior Nikki White finished 18th in the event, freshman Lindsay Vrooman finished 26th and junior Margaux Farrell finished 28th. These results were career bests for Strumbel, Vrooman and Farrell.

In the 200-yard IM, junior Allysa Vavra swam the second-fastest time in IU history, finishing 11th. It also earned her All-American honors. She was followed by senior Ashley Jones, who finished 34th.

Freshman Sara Delay finished 44th in the 50-yard freestyle, finishing just short of her personal record. In the 400-yard medley, the Hoosier team of sophomore Taylor Wohrley, freshman Bronwyn Pasloski, senior Britney Barwegan and Farrell finished 15th, again earning All-American honors.

On the boards, junior Gabby Agostino and sophomore Amy Cozad finished 26th and 37th, respectively. The University of Georgia is in the lead with 129 points, while the Hoosiers have earned 16 points thus far. The action continues Friday and Saturday as the Hoosiers look to continue building on their success from the first day of competition.
