Rivals.com is reporting that New Mexico defensive coordinator Doug Mallory and Nebraska linebackers coach Mike Ekeler will be named IU's co-defensive coordinators. Mallory is the son of former IU football coach Bill Mallory.
A source with knowledge of the situation confirmed Mallory and Ekeler will be named to the positions, but did not know when they would be introduced.
Ekeler has ties to new IU coach Kevin Wilson as he was a graduate assistant at Oklahoma during Wilson's tenure as offensive coordinator there. Mallory coached the secondary at IU under his father.
