Hanner Perea, the No. 10 overall player in the class of 2012, has commited to IU according to mutiple sources. Evan Daniels of Scout.com was the first to break the news.

Perea currently attends La Lumiere School in LaPorte, Ind. and has been one of the top targets for IU coach Tom Crean for some time now. The 6-foot-8 power forward said he was down to IU and Baylor. He most recently attended Friday's "Night of the Living Red" with IU commit Austin Etherington and 2011 recruit Cody Zeller (Washington, Ind.)

"I've been thinking about going to IU for a few days now," Perea said. "I told my family all about IU and that I wanted to come here for college. They said, if that's what you want to do, go ahead and commit."

Perea said above anything else, Crean was the biggest reason for selecting the Hoosiers. He said he has a great relationship with the third year coach and really likes the style of play.

"We have a really good relationship," Perea said of Crean. "He's a great coach and I really like his coaching style. He can make my dreams come true."

Perea joins center Peter Jurkin (Charlotte, North Carolina) and shooting guard Ron Patterson (Indianapolis) as IU commits in the class of 2012.
