Indiana University men's soccer head coach Todd Yeagley announced today that forward/midfielder Chris Estridge will join the Hoosier program this fall.Estridge will enter IU as a junior after spending his first two seasons at Wake Forest University. The 2008 Brownsburg High School graduate played in 19 games for the Demon Deacons last fall, scoring a pair of goals against South Carolina and Duke. He also saw time in each of Wake Forest's NCAA Tournament matches. As a freshman in 2008 he appeared in seven matches.
"We are excited to bring Chris back home to Indiana," Yeagley said. "Chris is an very talented and versatile attacking player who we feel can have an immediate impact next fall."
Estridge was the 2007 Indianapolis Star Player of the Year and a member of the Indianapolis Star Super Team. A four-time Indiana All-State team member, he helped lead Brownsburg to the Hendricks County Championship each of his four seasons and was the Hendricks County Player of the Year in 2007.
The addition of Estridge, brings the 2010 IU recruiting class to a total of 11 players. Estridge joins Kerel Bradford (Chandler, Ariz.), Ryan Bristol (Franklin, Tenn.), Jacob Bushue (Champaign, Ill.), Nikita Kotlov (Indianapolis, Ind.), Dylan Lax (Columbus, Ind.), Matt McKain (Columbus, Ind.), Ambry Moss (Nassau, Bahamas), Harrison Petts (Zionsville, Ind.), Taylor Reeves (Omaha, Neb.) and Blake Wise (Frisco, Texas).
