Covering recruiting last year and the prior spring semester and summer, I had a number of interviews with the Class of 2009 recruits (though I never had more than a text conversation with Bawa during the signing period).
When I asked each of the players about their individual and team goals, everyone gave the typical answers - win a national title, win conference championships, get better, etc.
I distinctly remember what Christian Watford told me when I wrote a feature story on him a year ago, so I decided to find the actual quote. Yes, he too wanted to win Big Ten titles, get to the NCAA Tournament and compete for a championship...
And I want to be Big Ten Freshman of the Year and next year just keep building from that.
