Just to clear the air, no IU players were included on the first three teams listing the conference's best players.
But three Hoosiers were honored.
Verdell Jones, Christian Watford and Brett Finkelmeier were all on the All-Big Ten Men's Basketball team.
Many thought sophomore guard Verdell Jones could have made one of the three teams. He averaged 16 points, four rebounds and three assists per game within conference.
Jones was on the list for honorable mention All-Big Ten team and Watford was added to the All-Freshman team.
Finkelmeier was added to the Sportsmanship Award honorees.
Jones scored 14 points per game and dished out 3.3 assists for the season.
Watford was part of a five-man all-freshmen team and scored 12 points per game and averaged six rebounds per game.
Jones played better in conference, while Watford's numbers stayed steady.
He averaged 11 points and six rebounds per game in the Big Ten.
I'm going to post the rest of these in shifts because so many players are included.
Expect a couple more posts soon after this one.
