Here's the latest word from another 2010 IU men's soccer commitment, Indiana native Matt McKain. He and Dylan Lax, the next recruit up on my call list, currently attend Columbus North high school and will be headed to Bloomington in the fall. Here's a quick Q & A followed by the full audio from the interview.

On playing with his Columbus North teammate, Dylan Lax

It's a great plus to have him there. We've grown up playing together, so it's kind of cool.

We've played together since we were eight, maybe. It will be a great connection to have on the field.

On his IU ties

Bloomington is about 45 minutes from home. That's huge. It's close to home. I've played in Bloomignton for the Cutters for a year or two. I've been going to games there, my sister goes to school there, my mom went there, my uncle went there. I've just kind of always been a fan.

On IU coach Todd Yeagley

I'm excited about Yeagley coming in. His dad did so much for the program, it's exciting to see it stay in the family.

On getting to play at IU

IU has always been my dream. I grew up watching them win their national titles and all that. It's just always been a dream of mine to play there and be a part of that tradition. It's always been my fantasy - I never actually thought that it would happen. But I'm glad it did.
