This is a bit late, but I didn't have internet yesterday thanks to a bad splitter.
IU did challenge Northwestern, and brought on cheers from a crowd full of IU fans.
The comeback took the game within 11 at 60-49 with 7:03 in the game, was marked with a defensive change.
With his team in an expanded 2-3 zone, IU coach Tom Crean screamed "up" as IU players attempted to slow Northwestern's start from the 3-point line.
After IU switched to the zone, Northwestern missed seven 3-pointers in the first 10 minutes of the second half. They finished that stint with 4-of-11 shooting.
Missed stops quickly turned that string of good fortune for IU into a 16-point lead by five minutes.
"We definitely had some timely errors every time we started to make a threat," Crean said.
Watford said the Northwestern effort from outside was what kept IU behind.
"They're a tough team when they hitting threes like they were," he said.
