According to freshman forward Derek Elston, coach Crean told the players that rebounding would be vital to beating Minnesota.
As far as numbers go, he was right.
Sunday's game was the first time the Hoosiers have outrebounded their opponent in conference play. IU had 43 boards to Minnesota's 31. Even during its first conference win against Michigan on Dec. 31, IU still came up short on the glass.
