University of Illinois-Chicago coach John Trask has been given permission by his athletic department to speak with IU vice president and athletics director Fred Glass about the possibility of coaching the IU soccer team next season.

"As an alum, it's just a tremendous honor to even be mentioned," Trask said. "I've played there in the mid 80s. I coached there in the 90s. While I've been gone nine years now, I still go back and I still watch all their scores. First and foremost, I'm an IU guy and an IU alum and the big family that is IU soccer."

Trask was an assistant coach for the Hoosiers from 1993-1999. During that time, the cream and crimson compiled a 136-20-6 record.

"At this point in my life, I'm in my mid-40s as a potential candidate it's very intruiging and very interesting and I'm looking forward to speaking to them," Trask said.
