Coming out of Peegs.com, Chase Hoobler, three-star linebacker recruit, has committed to play at IU next season. Hoobler, the No. 7 ranked linebacker in Ohio, originally committed to Akron, but backed out after a staff overhaul.

Here is the original report:

Peegs.com has learned that linebacker Chase Hoobler has become the 22nd commitment in the 2010 recruiting class for Bill Lynch and his staff. The 6-foot-3, 225-pound Orrville (OH) Orrville H.S. standout is the fourth linebacker to commit to Indiana.

Hoobler, who originally committed to Akron but opened his recruiting back up when the staff there was fired, made an official visit to Bloomington this past weekend. The talented prospect chose Indiana over offers from Boston College, Louisville, Akron, Central Michigan, and Ball State. As a senior Hoobler was named first-team All-Ohio in Division IV, and he was also named the Northeast Inlands District Defensive Player of the Year. This past season he helped Orrville reach the third round of the state playoffs as he finished with 163 tackles and six sacks.

Hoobler is a three-star prospect that is ranked the 7th best linebacker in the state of Ohio and the 44th best prospect in the state overall by OhioVarsity.com.
