The IU volleyball team's two most potent offensive players were unanimous choices for Big Ten postseason honors, which were announced Monday.
Junior middle blocker Ashley Benson, who ended the 2009 campaign as the Hoosiers' leader in season hitting efficiency with a .361 percentage, was named to the All-Big Ten team for the second consecutive year.
Benson, who ranked fourth in the Big Ten and 49th nationally in hitting efficiency with her .361 mark, was one of eight unanimous selections to the All-Big Ten team. She also ranked eighth in kills-per-set, seventh in points-per-set and ninth in service aces-per-set.
Freshman outside hitter Jordan Haverly, who ended her initial collegiate season ranked seventh in the conference in kills-per-set with a 3.35 average, was a unanimous Big Ten All-Freshman honoree.
Haverly earned three Big Ten Freshman of the Week awards this season, the most recent for the final weekend during which the Hoosiers swept Wisconsin and Iowa on the road.
Sophomore setter Mary Chaudoin was also recognized by the Big Ten committee, earning the Big Ten Sportmanship award.
