As former IU cornerback Tracy Porter makes a name for himself in the big leagues, another member of the Hoosiers' 2007 Insight Bowl team is finally on the road back to recovery.
Wide receiver and fan-favorite James Hardy has been added to the Buffalo Bills' 53-man roster, coming off ACL surgery on his left knee. So far, Hardy has only 87 yards on nine receptions in his short NFL career, but two of those catches, including a game-winner against Jacksonville last season, have been for scores.
"It's been a long nine months and I've just been patiently waiting and now is my time," Hardy told buffalobills.com. "I feel great. I feel like I did pretty good in practice and now I'm just ready to move forward so I can get back out on the field. I'm ready."
Hardy joins a receiver corps with the likes of Terrell Owens, whom Hardy gave his No. 81 jersey prior to this season.
In other, and old, news from the '07 team, defensive tackle Greg Brown was spotted at Memorial Stadium during the current squad's practice about a week ago, saying he's just trying to stay in shape, waiting for a phone call from an NFL team needing help.
