The IU women's golf team shot a closing 315 Tuesday in the final round of the Johnie Imes Invitational in Colombia, Mo. Entering the final day in third place and only four shots behind the leader Tulsa, IU was never able to mount a charge and finished in 7th place.

The Hoosiers were led by senior Laura Nochta with a 18th place finish. It was the third straight tournament that Nochta has been the low individual for IU.

Freshman Pamela Burneski and Kate Coons finished in 28th place individually.

Junior Cecilia Orevik had the low round of the tournmanet for the Hoosiers, a second round 73, and placed 38th.

Senior Kellye Belcher rounded out the scoring with a 47th place finish.

The Hoosiers will have four weeks off before closing out the fall portion of their schedule with the 2009 Challenge at Onion Creek in Austin, Texas.
