IU freshman outside hitter Jordan Haverly was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week for her efforts against Purdue and Minnesota.
This is the second time in the 2009 season that Haverly has earned the award, the first on Sept. 14 following the Hoosiers' sweep of the Hampton Inn Invitational in Athens, Ohio.
Haverly posted averages of 3.90 kills and 2.25 digs per set as IU split its two matches last week, winning a five-set contest at Purdue Wednesday and then falling in straight sets to Minnesota Sunday.
The Hoosiers (13-5, 2-2) hit the road this weekend for conference matches at Illinois (10-3, 2-2) at 7 p.m. Saturday and at Northwestern (9-7, 0-4) at 6 p.m. Sunday.
