The pitcher and catcher combination of Eric Arnett and Josh Phegley contributed to IU's second consecutive appearance in the Big Ten Tournament. The duos success garnered two conference picks for national awards.

One of 15 semifinialists, Arnett is one of two pitchers in the conference named for the College Baseball Foundation's National Pitcher of the Year honor.

Pitching to an 11-1 record, Arnett compiled a 2.78 ERA and 93 Ks. His strikeouts place him fourth on the single-season list, while his eleven wins are the second-most in school history. Arnett also hurled a 7-0 Big Ten season, a school record. His 2.90 conference ERA ranks Arnett second in the conference to teammate Matt Bashore.

Named as one of 13 semifinalists for the Coleman Company Johnny Bench award, presented to the nation's top catcher, Phegley is also listed with only one other backstop in the conference.

Phegley's 17 homers slot him sixth on IU's single season list. Going yard 32 times in his career sets Phegley eight. Listed in the Big Ten's top 10 in nearly every category, the versatile backstop ranks second in the RBI on the year with 62.

Phegley and Arnett use their skills to help the cream and crimson through the Big Ten tournament. The Hoosiers first game is slated for Wednesday against Purdue.
