Happy Friday, everyone. The first week of classes is over for students (hooray), but like the Hoosiers, a long road lies ahead. The Hoosiers return to Assembly Hall tomorrow for their first home game in 10 days when they host Penn State (6 p.m. tip-off). Just wanted to do a little link dump: here's what we had in today's paper in terms of men's basketball:

* Kirby previews the Nittany Lions game. Illinois and Ohio State combined to outscore the Hoosiers 153-98 over IU's past two games. IU will need a win Saturday to snap their seven-game losing streak.

* After predicting the Hoosiers to upset Ohio State, Osterman returns to earth with his column today. He writes that the Hoosiers will need to learn to defend the 3 if they have any chance of winning Saturday. Osty also predicts PSU to win, 76-61.

* Finally, I did a profile of this blog's most polarizing figure (besides Engel), Eric Gordon. The story examines EJ's transition from high school to the pros in three seasons. Clips center Marcus Camby on Gordon: "He's a real quiet dude"
