Hey y'all we have two updates for you:
First, prize prospects Jeremy Gainer and Kenneth Watkins have officially withdrawn their commitments to play football at IU, rivals.com reports.
Kenneth Watkins a three star safety from Michigan committed to Big Ten foe Minnesota yesterday. He is the No. 42 overall safety in the nation, though relatively unknown because of injury.
Watkins also happens to be cousin to Gainer, who may now be called IU's former four-star recruit.
In the rivals report, Watkins is quoted as saying thus:
"I am going to do as much as I can to get Jeremy with me. He is already pretty high on Minnesota but only time will tell. There is no doubt that it is down to Michigan State and Minnesota for him. We want to play together but we each want what is best for each other."
You'll notice IU was not one of the schools Watkins said he had no doubts on who Gainer was choosing between.
Gainer is the No. 15 overall outside linebacker in the country and, for a while, was the Hoosiers' only four-star commit.
And now an update on James Hardy:
Hardy suffered a season ending ACL tear in his NFL game Sunday with the Buffalo Bills, Chris Brown, the lead journalist for the Bills team Web site reports.
Bills coach Dick Jauron said Hardy will be placed on the team's injured reserves list, ending his season.
Hardy was praised as the team's stud prospect and was to ignite their offense, but ended up only catching nine passes for 87 yards and two scores through 14 games.
