Freshman forward Sasha Chaplin injured her knee on Tuesday against Butler. Chaplin drove to the basket made her shot, but fell down awkwardly. After the play she stayed on the ground for a minute before being helped on the court and into the locker room.

At practice today Chaplin was moving around very gingerly and had a noticeable limp. Despite the injury Chaplin appeared to be in good spirits today, constantly smiling and having fun with her teammates from the sideline. The following is what the release from IU said about the injury today:

"Indiana freshman forward Sasha Chaplin will be unavailable to play on Saturday, Dec. 13 at West Virginia due to an injury suffered on Dec. 9. Further information on Chaplin's status will not be available until early next week following a doctor's appointment. In eight games, Chaplin has averaged 4.9 points and 4.0 rebounds."

It is really too bad to see her go down like this after she had another minor injury at the beginning of the season. Her size and productivity will be missed, especially going into conference play.
