Andujar, a freshman this year, came to IU from Dillard High School in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida

How she got the nickname City: In her freshman year of high school her teammates could not say her name so they needed to come up with a nickname. One person commented she was as tall as a building. And where do you find buildings? In the City! Eventually the name stuck. Even her teachers called her City in high school. Now everyone including Coach Jack and her teammates call her by her nickname.

What she did over winter break: Went home to Miami, Florida where the temperature was in the 80s. Spent time with friends including going to the beach. Also got in some basketball as she practiced with her high school team every morning and went to some of their games as well.

On her adjustment to life at IU: At first it was hard adjusting to classes, the weather, and the intensity of basketball practice. Now that she has been with the team for a while she is really starting to enjoy things more.

Season stats through 10 games: Has played in 6 games for a total of 30 minutes. Has recorded 8 points, 11 rebounds, and 1 blocked shot.

A Native of the Dominican Republic: Andujar was a member of the junior national basketball team in 2006. Her inspiration came from her mother, who played on the volleyball national team.

Thoughts from Coach Jack on her signing to play for IU: "Danilsa is a kid that is a strong, confrontational kind of post player, a back-to-the-basket kind of post player," Legette-Jack said. "She just knew what she wanted. She decided on only a few schools that were going to recruit her and she let us in on the fact that she liked that we were a character staff and team. She will be a great addition to Amber (Jackson) on the low block because she is so strong. She knows how to work in small quarters, and we know that she is a wonderful rebounder as well."

Additional thoughts for this season: She has great spirit and is a great teammate. She is always very involved in the game even when she is not playing and is always cheering on the team.
