Rivals.com reviewed the Big Ten's 2009 recruiting class, and not surprisingly Tom Crean's six-man class leads the conference. Illinois came in at No. 2 and five-star Royce White has Minnesota at No. 3, while Michigan and Purdue follow.

Schools six through ten have only two commits, so it's hard to compare, while Ohio State has zero commits for 2009. In 2010, however, the Buckeyes are tenatively set to welcome the "Thad Five," part two (three five-star recruits, a four-star prospect and a three-star junior).

The Rivals article talks up Christian Watford and Maurice Creek, but says Jordan Hulls "may be the most important recruit in the class." Recruiting analyst Justin Young also has several Hoosiers among his "Best of the Big Ten" superlatives, but keep in mind there is a late signing period during the Spring in which many of the other Big Ten schools will add recruits:

  • Best passer: Jordan Hulls
  • Best shot-blocker: Bawa Muniru
  • Most versatile: Christian Watford
  • Best basketball IQ: Jordan Hulls
  • Best strength: Bobby Capobianco
