Perfect time for sophomore Leigh Anne Cummings to net her first goal of the season. Cummings goal in the 51st minute was enough for the Hoosiers to defeat the Spartans, Friday night. After a scoreless first half, IU couldn't afford to tie Michigan State tonight. The Hoosiers came into tonight's game needing three points in the conference to keep their chances alive for the Big Ten Tournament next weekend in Iowa City.
The New York native had this to say about her game winning goal.
"We were looking for the weak side," Cummings said. "We knew we had an extra player in the midfield, so we kept playing balls looking for me. I really wanted to score and it finally came"
