UPDATE: 6:13
Michael Sanserino here: I just got off the phone with trustee Philip Eskew Jr., and he said he has not been contacted regarding Tom Crean.
"I've been watching along with everybody else."
He said he's expecting to get a call from trustee president Stephen Ferguson when something was "close" to happening.

OK folks, it's been one crazy day for the IU men's basketball team search. Just hours ago, a rumor circulated on the premier IU message board, Peegs.com, that UNLV coach Lon Kruger would become the coach of the Hoosiers.
Now, ESPN's Andy Katz is reporting that Marquette coach Tom Crean will be the next IU coach. IU Director of Media Relations J.D. Campbell told the IDS that he has not been aware of any decision.
Wikipedia already has Crean as the Hoosier coach, so it must be true, at least for Stephen Colbert.
So what do we know about Tom Crean? He led Marquette to the Final Four in 2003, led by current NBA star Dwayne Wade. He was an assisnant coach to Michigan State coach Tom Izzo before taking over at Marquette.
