Class basketball may have killed Indiana high school basketball, but presidential candidate Barack Obama wants to bring back his own Hoosier Hysteria.
Former IU player Calbert Cheaney announced today that Obama will play in a 3-on-3 tournament against high school and college students. High school students who register 20 people to vote will be eligible for the competition. One person will be picked to play in the tournament against Obama and can pick two others to play on his or her team. College students who register 30 people to vote will be entered in a separate contest. That one student will play on Obama's team.
"High school and college students have been inspired by Barack's message and the possibility that Americans can come together around a leader whose mission it is to bring them together," Cheaney said in a release. "The Obama campaign has waged an unprecedented effort to engage young people and register them, and young people have returned the attention with countless volunteer hours and precious votes."
