The IU-Indianapolis exhibition just finished. IU won 83-46.

Matt is hard at work on a detailed wrap story as we speak, but until then, a funny (if not noteworthy) tidbit: the Adam Ahlfeld experience.

I mentioned Ahlfeld's intensity and enthusiasm a week or so ago, but tonight, it was on full contagious display. Well ahead in the second half, IU coach Kelvin Sampson called Ahlfeld down to his end of the bench. The crowd started rumbling.

Then, with about a minute left, Ahlfeld jumped to the scorer's table, fumbled with his warmups a bit, and then sprinted into the game. His first play? A steal at the top of the key. His second? A wide-open three, which he proceeded to knock cold. It was as loud as the crowd had been the whole night.

Most of the time, Ahlfeld's exuberance feels a bit much. But on nights like tonight, you can't help but be happy for the guy.

Check IDSNews.com later tonight for more basketball news, and stay tuned tomorrow for IU's big football matchup with Michigan.

(UPDATE: Coach Sampson just finished addressing the media. In the process of discussing IU's 3 point shooting, he said: "I obviously should have gotten Ahlfeld in earlier. He was hot tonight."

I guess he's right. 1-1 is 1.000 percent. Many would kill for that stat.)
