Indiana women's golf tied for 12th at The Ally Invitational after the tournament was shortened to two rounds. The third round, scheduled for Wednesday, was canceled due to illness among competing teams.
The Hoosiers played Monday and Tuesday at Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Mississippi, a par-72, 6,428-yard course. They shot a team total of 28-over-par 604, tying for 12th among 17 teams.
Indiana shot a 14-over-par 302 in both the first and second rounds. The Hoosiers entered the event ranked 44th in the final 2025-26 college golf rankings and were paired with Oklahoma State University and the University of Mississippi in the opening round.
The University of Florida, the fourth-ranked team in the final 2025-26 college golf rankings, headlined the 17-team field. Participants Oklahoma State (No. 13), the University of Vanderbilt (No. 15), host Mississippi State University (No. 22) and Ole Miss (No. 23) also finished last season inside the top 25.
The Hoosiers arrived in Mississippi after tying for third at the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational on Sept. 21- 22 in Lexington, Kentucky, with a score of 1-under-par 863. They opened the season by tying for ninth at the Boilermaker Classic on Aug. 31 and Sept. 1 with a score of 39-over-par 903.
Junior Cara Heisterkamp led the Hoosiers for the second straight event. She shot a 3-over-par 147, with a 73 in the first round and a 74 in the second, recording four total birdies. She tied for 23rd in the individual rankings.
Heisterkamp also led Indiana at the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational, finishing at 6-under-par 210 (69-70-71) to tie for 10th, the lowest score of her collegiate career.
Senior Katie Poots finished one stroke behind Heisterkamp this week with a 4-over-par 148, shooting a 74 in each round and tying for 32nd individually. Poots made a team-best of 10 birdies, six of which came in the second round.
Sophomore Saia Rampersaud shot a 6-over-par 150, with a 75 in both rounds. She recorded four birdies and tied for 45th individually.
Seniors Sheridan Clancy and Harriet Lockley finished fourth and fifth, respectively, among the Hoosiers. Clancy shot a 16-over-par 160, improving from an 81 in the first round to a 79 in the second, while recording three birdies and tying for 78th. Lockley, who transferred from the University of Alabama this summer, shot an 18-over-par 162, with an 80 in the first round and an 82 in the second, tying for 83rd.
The Indiana women's golf team returns to competition at the Illini Women's Invitational on 12-13 at Medinah Country Club in Medinah, Illinois.
