Indiana baseball’s redshirt freshman catcher Brayden Ricketts has entered the transfer portal, per an Instagram post from aroundthehornszn.
Last year was Ricketts’ first full season. The Brampton, Ontario, native appeared in 51 games last year, starting 46. He hit .250 with a .842 OPS in 168 at-bats. Ricketts also produced 15 extra-base hits, including nine home runs and 28 RBIs.
Defensively, Ricketts recorded a .994 fielding percentage and committed just one error in 163 chances.
Ricketts is the second Hoosier to enter the portal. Junior catcher T.J. Schuyler announced his decision May 20, per his X account.
Schuyler played in 44 contests for Indiana. The 6-foot-2 catcher hit .080 with a .273 OPS in 113 at-bats. However, Schuyler recorded a perfect fielding percentage, not committing an error and posting 290 putouts along with 30 assists.
The NCAA baseball transfer portal opens June 1.
