Following its dominant 56-22 victory over Oregon in the College Football Playoff semifinals Friday night, Indiana football added a duo of four-star prospects and a three-star safety to its 2027 recruiting class Saturday. The Hoosiers landed commitments from wide receiver Ja’Hyde Brownathlete Monsanna Torbert Jr. and safety Garyon Hobbs, per Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett.

Brown is a four-star recruit and is ranked as the 50th-best wide receiver in the 2027 class, per 247Sports’ composite rankings. He chose Indiana over the University of Louisville, the University of Alabama and Vanderbilt University.

The 5-foot-10, 186-pound Brown attends Christian Academy of Louisville, where he led all Kentucky high school receivers with 98 catches for 1,556 yards and 24 touchdowns in 2025. As part of his state-leading season, Brown earned Kentucky Football Coaches Association Class 3A Player of the Year.

Torbert, a Cincinnati native, is the 14th-best athlete in the 2027 class, per 247Sports’ composite rankings. He selected the Hoosiers over Maryland, Iowa, the University of Cincinnati and the University of Pittsburgh. The 5-foot-10, 158-pound Torbert led Taft High School in Cincinnati to an 11-1 record in 2025. He recorded 40 tackles and three interceptions on defense. Torbert is projected to play in the secondary under Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti.

The Hoosiers added extra support to their secondary alongside Torbert on Saturday with the addition of Hobbs. The three-star safety player attended the Christian Academy of Louisville in 2024 before transferring to Atherton High School for the 2025 season.

The 5-foot-11, 198-pound safety chose Indiana over the University of Notre Dame and Vanderbilt. Hobbs finished 2025 with five interceptions, including two pick sixes.
