The Fall Ballet was performed Oct. 24–25 and featured four works, including Alexandra Danilova's restaging of "Chopiniana", "Allegro Brillante" by George Balanchine, "This Bitter Earth" by Christopher Wheeldon and "Strauss 200" by Gianna Reisen. Performed with a live orchestra conducted by Wei-Chung Chen, the ballet combined classical and contemporary choreography. Students in the IU Ballet Department performed all four ballets, including "Strauss 200", which Reisen created with IU dancers to music by Johann Strauss II.

There are now 12 orangutans living at the Simon Skjodt International Orangutan Center in Indianapolis after an infant orangutan was born February. He was the first baby orangutan born at the Indianapolis Zoo since 2016. Holding the then-newborn orangutan is his mother, Sirih. This was her third child.

The Fashion Design B.A. Fashion Show featured several different styles from fashion design students. Throughout the semester, the students created their collections, which were showcased in the fashion show. They recruited models to present their final designs to an audience of students, community members, friends and family.

Late Nite held a Cream and Crimson Carnival that featured several carnival rides, bumper cars, live music, food trucks and other live entertainment. Students and community members were required to sign a waiver before riding the carnival attractions.

“The Choreography Project,” held over two evenings, is a significant milestone for students pursuing a ballet degree at the Jacobs School of Music, as it provides them with the opportunity to step into the role of choreographer and present original work on stage. Ballet majors at IU are required to choreograph two pieces during their time in the program, and this performance highlights those efforts.
Little 500 riders crash into each other during the 2025 women's Little 500 on April 25, 2025, at Bill Armstrong Stadium in Bloomington. The crash took place in the fourth lap.
The competitors headed into the fourth lap in a tight pack, leading to the crash. The pile-up involved 15 riders. Sophie Boller, racing for WSR, was the first person to go down. Despite the setback, only having two riders on their team and not beginning training until February, WSR went on to place eighth.

The 37th annual running of the women’s Little 500 was marked with intense heat and early crashes. Alpha Chi Omega placed second overall in the race, falling to Kappa Alpha Theta who became back-to-back women’s champions.

In the 74th annual men's Little 500, Alpha Kappa Psi placed 20th out of the 33 racing teams. The Black Key Bulls won the race, claiming their fourth win. This made back-to-back wins for the Black Key Bulls, the fifth time a team had done so.

This event marked the 11th annual Bloomington Pridefest, celebrating the city’s LGBTQ+ community. Community members packed East Kirkwood Avenue for a day filled with face painting, live music, drag performances, comedy shows and entertainment for the whole family.

Charlie Kirk was assassinated Sept. 10, 2025, on Utah Valley University's campus in Orem, Utah. Kirk's death prompted Turning Point USA chapters across the nation to honor him. Indiana University's chapter hosted a vigil that included speeches from Indiana Lieutenant Governor Micah Beckwith and Indiana Senators Todd Young and Eric Koch.

The IU community held a “Vigil for Gaza” two years after the beginning of the Israel–Hamas war. Students and community members gathered at the Conrad Prebys Amphitheater in Bloomington. Seven speakers delivered speeches and shared poems with attendees. After all the speakers had finished, attendees were given candles and a paper flower with the name of a victim, which they laid at the front of the amphitheater.

Williams now has scored five touchdowns for the Hoosiers this season with 416 receiving yards and more expected to come in the post-season. Indiana's game against UCLA was Williams' highest performing of the season. He scored two touchdowns and received 109 yards.

Indiana football took on Michigan State for its Homecoming weekend game. The Hoosiers won 38-13, making them 7-0 and continuing its winning streak. During the game, a storm passed over the stadium, resulting in a delay after halftime. Indiana secured its victory over the Spartans by dominating in the second half of the game, following the weather delay. With the win, Indiana kept the Old Brass Spittoon for a second year. The Hoosiers' winning streak continued, the team is now 13-0 after the most recent victory over the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Indiana men’s basketball took on Baylor University in Indianapolis at Gainbridge Fieldhouse for a preseason exhibition game. The Hoosiers defeated the Bears with a close 76-74 final. Conor Enright played for 32 minutes in the game, scoring two points. Enright now has a season total of 36 points. The men’s team is 8-3 overall with a current standing of 12th in the Big Ten Conference.
Two runners of the Jill Behrman 5K Walk/Run emerge from the blue color zone Nov. 1, 2025, outside the Student Recreational Sports Center in Bloomington. While many participants wanted the color powder thrown on them, there were also color-free lanes for those who did not.
The Jill Behrman 5K Walk/Run is held in memory of Jill Behrman, who left for a solo bike ride May 31, 2000, and never returned. Her body was found in 2003. The annual 5K is meant to create new memories while also honoring the life and impact of Behrman, who was an Indiana student and an employee of Recreational Sports. Proceeds from participant’s registration went toward the Jill Behrman Emerging Leader Scholarship, assault education, self-defense programs and campus recreational sports programs.

The Indiana men's basketball team defeated the University of the Incarnate Word in a close game, 69-61, to continue its winning streak. Tayton Conerway scored nine points during the game, helping them continue their winning streak to 4-0. Indiana now stands at 8-3 overall; its most recent loss was against the Kentucky Wildcats.

The Indiana Volleyball team’s 2025 season was its most successful yet. The freshman-dominated starting lineup led the team to a historic 25-8 season record. The Hoosiers qualified for the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2010 with a No. 4-seed. The team swept against University of Toledo and University of Colorado - Boulder during the first and second round of the tournament, respectively. The first two rounds took place Dec. 4-5, 2025, and were held in Wilkinson Hall. The team then traveled to the University of Texas at Austin to face the Longhorns in the tournament’s semifinals. The Longhorns ultimately swept the Hoosiers 0-3, ending the team’s 2025 bid.

When Indiana came into the 2025 Big Ten Championship game, it had never competed in the game following its creation in 2011. Since Curt Cignetti took over as head coach of IU at the start of the 2024 football season, the Hoosiers have had a 24-2 overall record. The win in the game was Indiana's first over Ohio State since 1988.

A week later, Fernando Mendoza went on to win the Heisman Trophy on Dec. 13, 2025, in New York City. Alberto Mendoza, along with the rest of his family, joined him at the ceremony. Fernando will lead the Hoosiers in the postseason, starting with the Rose Bowl game Jan. 1, 2026, in Pasadena, California.

Following Indiana's win in the Big Ten Championship over Ohio State, Fernando Mendoza won the Grange-Griffin Championship Game Most Valuable Player Trophy. This was Indiana's first Big Ten Championship since 1967, and third all time. It was also the first time Indiana football finished a regular season 12-0.
